MONITORING
Better guardrails start with better targets.
How to turn campaign monitoring into a consistent team habit.
Define what deserves attention
A notification is useful when someone knows what it means and what to do next. Choose thresholds that reflect a campaign’s goal and maturity. The same CPC target rarely makes sense for a new prospecting campaign and an established brand campaign.
Treat missing data as missing data
An empty target is not a healthy campaign. Before evaluating performance, check that budgets, dates and targets have been configured. Explicit gaps are easier to fix than a dashboard that silently substitutes zero.
Keep a human decision in the loop
Decide who reviews an issue, what evidence they need and where they record the outcome. Orange Phoenix rules currently create in-app notifications when evaluated; they do not automatically change campaigns in Google Ads, Meta or TikTok.
Review the guardrails themselves
Thresholds should evolve as campaigns and business priorities change. Review noisy rules, missed issues and unresolved notifications with your team. Monitoring becomes more useful when its quality is reviewed alongside campaign performance.
